General Information
Pickup for normal household trash and recyclables is provided by the City of Mission Hills and paid for by your tax dollars. Collection starts at 7:30 a.m. Service is provided by Deffenbaugh Disposal (913-631-3300).
Recycling bins and lids ($10.00) are available for purchase from City Hall. Please keep all containers out of sight except on your scheduled pick-up day.
Household hazardous materials must be taken to the disposal site. Call the Johnson County Environmental Department at 913-715-6900 to schedule an appointment.
Holiday Schedule
Trash and recyclables are picked up once a week. Pickups scheduled on a holiday or following a holiday will be delayed one day. Deffenbaugh observes the following holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
