The Crime Prevention
& Safety Committee studies crime patterns in the Mission Hills
area and recommends action to the City Council to lower crime and improve the
public’s safety.

Street Light Task Force
The Street Light Task Force was formed as a subcommittee
of the Crime Prevention &
Safety Committee in order to determine proper illumination
and its effectiveness in discouraging crime in the City. The Task Force
recommended that the City Council adopt a lighting standard for Mission
Hills. In 2003, the Task Force unveiled a three-year plan phasing in 89 new
street lights throughout the City.
