Tornado Siren

Johnson County will be participating in the 2018 Severe Weather Awareness Week (SWAW) along with the State of Kansas Division of Emergency Management and National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill. SWAW runs from March and includes a statewide Tornado Drill Tuesday, March 6rd at 10:00 a.m. The statewide tornado drill will be performed in addition to the routine monthly test of the outdoor warning sirens on March 7th at 11:00am, so excluding any weather complications and technical issues, the sirens will be tested two days in a row in March, the 6th and 7th.

In addition to the annual statewide tornado drill on the 6th, Johnson County will also be testing its mass notification system, NotifyJoCo at 10:00am on the 6th as well. For more on the NotifyJoCo system, click here!
