[ARCHIVED] Mission Hills COVID-19 Update 3/19/20

Fellow Residents:

Without taking away from the seriousness at hand, I was so pleased today that Mother Nature cooperated today and many residents took the opportunity to walk through our community. Even more heartening were the walkers I watched who thoughtfully moved to the other side of the street as they passed other walkers in accordance with social distancing protocols. Thank you.

Three updates to note for today.

First, the Council meets tomorrow (Friday, March 20th) at noon to discuss extending the Emergency Declaration enacted Monday. The State and County have extended theirs 60 days and I believe the Council will vote to do the same. The dial-in information (it is a virtual meeting) is at the end of this post. This is, as always, a public meeting.

Second, the KDHE issued updated guidance for travelers yesterday (3/18/20) that added the entire state of Florida to the travel list and mandated, rather than advised, self-quarantine. Please, if you traveled back from any of the states (or internationally) listed in the KDHE guidance (the information and the rules of self-quarantine are both in the link below), follow the quarantine guidelines for everyone’s safety.

Third, please make yourself aware of the guidelines for what symptoms require medical consultation (phone) or treatment (clinic or hospital). Our metro systems are not yet overwhelmed, but they are busy. We can help all of the front-line healthcare workers by knowing and following these guidelines listed in the link below and NOT going to the ER when unwarranted:

What to Do if You Are Sick:
