Fellow Residents:
A brief update as we enter the weekend.
The Council met today and extended the City’s Emergency Declaration for 60 days, consistent with the County and the State. I want to thank the Council and staff for their support on many fronts. We are all in uncharted times and everyone is providing energy and leadership.
The State late yesterday clarified its mandate to travelers (which I noted in yesterday’s update) at the link here:

The County also updated its guidance on what to do if you have symptoms (which is consistent with the CDC guidance I cited yesterday):

Finally, as we enter the weekend, I would ask all residents to do one quick thing. Please take an inventory of your immediate neighbors, your local family and friends.
We have a community with many close connections and as this situation evolves, your family, friends and immediate neighbors may need your help. That help will hopefully be something small - but the collective impact can be enormous. Whatever that small act may be, the support we show each other is an important part of who we are.
The staff and I continue to be available for questions and feedback. Please do not hesitate to call City Hall at 913-362-9620 or email me at mayor@missionhillsks.gov. Thank you.
